菲律賓政府不肯為2010年馬尼拉人質事件道歉,特首梁振英昨日宣布向菲律賓實施首階段制裁行動,暫停菲律賓外交或公務護照持有人14天免簽訪港的安排,但,該「制裁」每年只影響700至800名菲政府人員。

這個「制裁」是否有效?那,可不是由香港人反應去判斷,應看菲國民情研判。童工與A昨天看菲國網民反應,對不起,原來不少菲律賓網民是不以為然,他們只擔心來港菲傭(Overseas Filipino Workers即OFWs)簽證受影響,因近8%菲傭到中港工作,香港菲傭匯款回國更是排在菲國第10位,而今次制裁,對菲傭而言,可說不痛不癢,菲國政府又怎會當一回事!

I hope that Filipinos should not generalize Hongkongers as a whole. My friends said a lot does not agree scrapping Filipino Visa upon entry privileges, it is just that the CY Leung’s (HK Chief Executive) government public opinion and approval rating is very low and Pro Beijing politicians are using this to divert the issue.

I agree with you on this. A number of Filipinos staying there have stated very much what you’ve just said. I’ve been to Hong Kong last year and I did not get even a whiff of any hostility against Filipinos. My uncle and aunt, who are very much Filipinos, are happy working there. It’s just that selfish politician Leung trying to instigate us into showing how “bad" we Filipinos are, so that he could win mainland China’s support and stay in power. The same could be said about what happened in Taiwan regarding the coast guard issue. It was only a very unpopular politician who is also a Beijing bootlicker. My friend in Taiwan has proven that most Taiwanese didn’t even give that “controversy" a second glance. Most people in Hong Kong are sick and tired of this issue and are angry at Leung for making them look like they hate Filipinos. So to my fellow Filipinos, be careful of reacting, or else you’ll just play into Leung and mainland China’s hands. 」

試問,當菲國國民也不怕,「制裁」,還可說是「制裁」嗎?
